Job Descriptions:

  • Make an action plan for training targeted beneficiaries;
  • Ensure appropriate coordination and communication between the project team, community representatives, and other stakeholders at the district levels;
  • Coordinate the Training plan in advance with beneficiaries, wakils/CDC, and with district authorities;
  • Facilitate the training in the local language and more in a participatory manner.
  • Prepare training modules, handouts, and visual aids that cover the essentials of Home gardening & Vegetable/Fruits Processing, tailored to the target audience's needs and level of understanding.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Deliver interactive training sessions on Home gardening & Processing techniques, providing practical demonstrations and hands-on activities as appropriate. The trainer should ensure active participation and engagement from the Farmers/beneficiaries as well.
  • Evaluate the knowledge and skills of Farmers/Beneficiaries who received training to make sure that the training approach is in accurate manner.
  • Prepare and develop training reports for each training session and general training report;
  • Showcase best practices in Home gardening, including composting, organic pest control, crop rotation, Land preparation, seed cultivation methods, use Chemical and organic (manure) fertilizer application and emphasize sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches to gardening.
  • Assist Farmers/Beneficiaries in designing and planning their Home gardens, considering factors such as available space, sunlight exposure, soil quality, and the types of vegetables or herbs desired.
  • Guide participants in selecting suitable seeds for their Home gardens, taking into account local climate, seasonality, and dietary preferences.
  • Develop the practical ability of Female selected beneficiaries in Vegetable & Fruits processing (use of tools, materials, and techniques, formulation, cooking, packaging, labeling, and marketing of Agricultural products).
  • The trainer will develop and understand the Female beneficiaries with the formula for the composition and ingredients of processing the jams, pickles, Juices, and tomato Pastes.
  • The Trainer will implement theoretical training in very simple and easy manner to improve the knowledge and skills of the beneficiaries on Agricultural product safety, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Design training, training tools, and materials on the level of local communities on vegetable and Fruits process and production.
  • Address questions, concerns, and challenges raised by the Farmers/beneficiaries, offering practical solutions and troubleshooting advice regarding Home gardening & Agricultural fresh product processing practices.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to assess the progress of Farmers' Home gardens, provide feedback, and offer additional guidance as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture and Horticulture
  • Excellent command on local languages plus English.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Home gardening & vegetable/Fruits Processing techniques, including organic and sustainable practices.
  • Previous experience in conducting training sessions and capacity-building activities related to Home gardening or agriculture.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver training content and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with local climatic conditions, gardening challenges, and suitable vegetable varieties for the target location.
  • availability to travel to the training locations, if required, or ability to conduct virtual training sessions.
