Job Descriptions:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Safety Officer will perform the following functions:

Security and safety management:

  • Supervise and manage briefings of staff on safety awareness, as well as conducting ad‑hoc briefings for visitors.
  • Identify and organize regular safety trainings for staff that include but not limited to: First Aid Training; Mine Risk Awareness and Personal Safety Awareness, and maintain training records of each staff member.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct site assessments of relevant offices and other facilities and take actions, give recommendations for physical security improvements in coordination with team leaders and or Area Manager, follow the procurement process to ensure the completion of approved upgrades.
  • Identify safety related weaknesses and come up with fixing plans. Propose new measures and ensure follow up.
  • Ensure all security related arrangements including cameras, safety rooms, locks and lighting systems of offices and stock facilities, are in place and properly working.
  • Conduct location/area assessments with mitigation/avoidance recommendations.
  • Coordinate with safety and security networks/groups, collect updates on regular basis and disseminate appropriate and on time information to teammates and management. 
  • Report to Area Manager, all incidents involving staff, assets and premises that compromise access in any way.
  • Updating fixed assets register to ensure the assets availability in specific location, tag number, supplier modification, registration of assets, remaining useful life updates and preparing disposal report;

Personnel Management:

  • Participate in the hiring process of guards and other related staff as required.
  • Assist the staff to manage access points and permission to enter the compound and office.
  • Provide regular training (new and refresher) to guards, drivers and other staff as required.
  • Prepare and disburse working plans and schedule for guards.
  • Oversee the working schedule and actual working hours of guards.
  • Make sure guards and other safety personnel are functional, physically fit and performing their duties.
  • Provide regular updates and advises on staff and shuttle routs.   
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Political Science, Security, Law or similar subjects.
  • Good reporting skills and sound ability of context analysis.
  • Good communication skills and Team Player, available in on and off hours.
  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro.
  • Solid organizational skills and strong personal work ethic.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in security management, access or liaison.
  • Experience to work and deal with governmental, non‑governmental and tribal stakeholders.
  • Fluency in speaking & writing in English is required, Dari & Pashto also very helpful.
