Afghanistan Relief Initiative Organization (ARIO) is non-governmental and non-profit organization registered with Ministry of Economic in 2023 under “5828”. ARIO is working to support small enterprises, poverty alleviation, child protection, education and human rights and also committed to pursue sustainable development goals.
1. Project Background:
The project aims to improve access to food and food security for 35 families in Kabul.
The project will teach different cultivation and irrigation techniques useful for community and kitchen gardens and requires daily, in-person trainings for 3 months.
The project officer will receive training on the techniques specific to the project and, in turn, will be responsible for the direct training of the families participating in the project.
2. Objectives:
2.1. To recruit a technically-qualified project officer to deliver high-quality training and ongoing support to families in need.
2.2. To ensure that the selected project officer possess the skills and expertise to assist families through effective training, technical guidance and assistance in the areas of agriculture (cultivation and irrigation techniques).
3. Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director and the master trainer, the project officer will be responsible for:
3.1. Helping coordinate the selection of the participating families;
3.2. Providing a comprehensive technical training, guidance, valuable insights, and solutions pertaining to various aspects of the cultivation and irrigation techniques taught by the project;
3.3. Ensure ongoing monitoring of the project and offer supervisory and practical support to the participating families;
3.4. Maintaining meticulous records of all interactions, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality;
3.5. Promptly escalating complex or urgent matter to the relevant project personnel;
3.6. Actively engaging with the project team to continuously enhance the quality of the support services provided.
4. Qualifications and Experience:
The Project Officer must meet the following minimum qualifications and experience:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, a master degree in the same field would be an asset. Degrees and masters in Engineering or Agronomy and similar are acceptable in lieu of Agricultural Engineering, as long as the requirements specified in point 4.2 are observed;
2. A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in projects dealing with agriculture training, and cultivation and irrigation techniques. Needs to have proven, hands-on experience building small-scale agricultural infrastructure at the community level;
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
4. Reliability and honesty, with attention to details;
5.Proficiency in both Dari and Pashto preferably, good knowledge of English.
