About Union Aid:

Union Aid (UA) was established by a group of Afghan philanthropists and social activists in July 1979 in Peshawar, Pakistan. Union Aid was serving Afghan Refugees and host communities living in/around refugee camps through various projects in three main sectors; health, education and skill development. UA has been providing basic health services through hospitals, Basic Health Units (BHUs), labor rooms, provision of prosthetic limbs and first aid trainings. UA facilitated Afghan Refugees in education sector through providing formal basic and higher education, skill development programs for men and women, literacy centers and scholarships.

Union Aid is actively providing regular support in humanitarian & development sectors such as, Healthcare, Nutrition, Education, Scholarships, Technical Vocational Education Trainings, Family Support Programs, Emergency Response and Support, Livelihoods, Food Security, Shelter, Construction/Rehabilitation of community level infrastructures, Environmental Protection, and WASH.

Job Descriptions:

Union Aid is looking to hire a pharmacy assistant to perform all clerical duties required for the efficient running of the pharmacy for the project of “Basic Health Centers in Walayati, Bazari, Qulab, Boyazar and Akakhail Villages of Kabul Province, Afghanistan” funded by AFV Germany. The pharmacy assistant’s responsibilities include placing orders for pharmaceutical supplies, and operating in and out of the medicines on daily basis. He/she should also be able to receive and unpack new stock delivered by suppliers. Ultimately, an outstanding pharmacy assistant should ensure that shelves are properly stocked and organized and that work areas are always clean.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking inventory of all medication and pharmaceutical supplies,
  • Maintain the transactions for medications and other pharmaceutical supplies,
  • Restocking shelves with medications and other pharmaceutical supplies,
  • Accurately typing and printing out the records and labels,
  • Rotate stock, move older medication to front shelf used prior to expiration date,
  • Notify the pharmacist when stock is low,
  • Receive, deliver, load and unload incoming and outgoing medicines,
  • Ensuring that work areas are organized and clean,
  • To perform any other tasks requested by line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from Pharmacy University,
  • Two years experience as a pharmacy assistant,
  • Proficient in Ms-Excel and Ms-Word applications,
  • Ability to meet deadline and work under pressure,
  • Excellent communication skills.
