MISSION:

Roshan’s Product & Services department is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle and MySQL, along with substantial knowledge of Oracle in Solaris and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments. This position requires an individual who is proficient in managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database architecture, system administration, and performance tuning within these specific platforms.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installing and maintaining the Oracle/MySQL database
• Having experience of database backup procedures, recovery systems and SQL queries.
• Design, deploy and maintain Oracle and MySQL database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Perform database tuning and optimization activities to enhance performance and scalability across all platforms.
• Develop and enforce database security measures, including access controls and encryption, to protect sensitive data.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize data loss and ensure business continuity.
• Having experience in Shell/Perl scripting.
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and trends, evaluating and recommending new tools and techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators and support staff.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database-related incidents and emergencies as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
• Work closely with system administrators to ensure seamless integration of database systems with underlying infrastructure.
• Having RMAN experience.
• Perform database migrations and upgrades as required, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.

WORK EXPERINCE:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of database administration with huge data.
• Telecom experience is a plus.
• MongoDB experience is a plus.
• OCP certification is a plus.
