Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international, non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian relief organization with its head quarter in Birmingham, UK. It enjoys consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and red Crescent Moments and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Islamic Relief has been working in Afghanistan for more than 23 years, providing emergency relief and implementing life-changing development projects for some of the most vulnerable people in the country. Islamic Relief set up our first Afghanistan office in 1999. Since then, IRA continued providing assistances in emergency relief, food security, livelihood, education, health, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, Ramadan and Qurbani programmes.

• Our International Programme Division are currently recruiting for the position of a Head of Operations Support.
• The Head of operations Support will offer overall direction and management of all support services in operation, in close cooperation with the Country Director.
• S/he will ensure effective and efficient business support in security, procurement, logistics, and ICT services of the country programme.
• S/he will play a key role in developing and implementing country-specific strategies as well as devising, implementing, and improving support services systems, processes, and policies while following IRW guidelines. 

The successful candidate must have or be:

·      Masters/Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with relevant experience

·      Proven experience in managing or heading supply chain and administration function at senior level in complex environments.

·      Diploma/certificate in supply chain Management

·      Initiative and motivation to work independently and develop solutions to problems. Highly flexible in style with the ability to produce creative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

·      Diplomacy and also ability to support others well and gain trust.

·      Understanding of the complexities of working in a multicultural environment.

·      Supply chain and administration strategies and planning.

·      Record management, Systems / policies development, Time management

·      Negotiation and conflict resolution.

·      Gender and Culture sensitive

·      Adaptable in approach to work with a willingness to work under pressure in a demanding environment

·      International Working experience desirably in Afghanistan
