Development Service for Afghan’s Rural and Urban Organization (DSARUO) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works for humanity in need, with focus on women and children and is formally registered with The Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan in the year 2011 working in various fields of, Wash, Agriculture, Education, Training, Shelter, Protection, Health, Hygienic Programs, Gender Equality, Humanitarian Assistance and Emergency Relief. Development Service for Afghan's Rural and Urban Organization (DSARUO) provided humanitarian and development services for both urban and rural population of Afghanistan with selfless dedication and passion and with complete attention and concentration, attended by many influential and well-intentioned people of the time. DSARUO has performed, executed and well accomplished several different and various projects on some above-mentioned and afore-mentioned areas of works and projects.

Job Descriptions:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Agricultural Crop Foreman to oversee and manage crop production activities. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in agricultural management, an in-depth knowledge of crop production, and an incentive to promote performance improvement.

Job Requirements:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee a team of agricultural workers who plant, cultivate, and harvest crops, ensuring that all tasks are carried out properly and in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Follow and assess crop health, growth, and development, identifying and treating any pest, disease, or environmental concerns that may affect the quality or yield of a crop.
  • Implement and monitor irrigation plans to ensure that crops receive adequate water levels for healthy growth and highest possible yield.
  • Oversee and coordinate the apple of fertilizers, insecticides, pest and other crop protection products, implementing safety requirements and best practices to increase crop health and reduce the impact on the environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop production procedures, such as planting dates, cultivation techniques, and harvest yields, to aid in data-driven decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Engage with agricultural specialists and agronomists to apply best practices in crop management, soil health, and sustainable agriculture strategies.
  • Coordinate the upkeep and restoration of agricultural equipment and machinery, ensuring that they are in good operating order to promote efficient crop production.
  • To encourage a culture of continual learning and skill development, agricultural workers should be trained and mentored in proper crop management techniques, safety measures, and equipment operation.

 

 Key skill and competencies required:

  • Previously received training in PSEA and anti-fraud and compliance
  • Must be willing to accept and comply with code of conduct of DSARUO
  • Comply to reporting allegation in Sexual harassment in workplace
  • Must adhere and comply to PSEA rules and guidelines.
  • Sensitivity to gender issues.

  • Proven experience in agricultural management, with a focus on crop production and cultivation.
  • Strong knowledge of crop management practices, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of agricultural workers.
  • Understanding of agricultural equipment and machinery, with the capability to oversee maintenance and repair activities.
  • Relevant certifications or training in agricultural management or related fields is a plus Ability and willingness to travel and stay in field locations
