About AWEC:

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Job Descriptions:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall administrative support and guidance to the project team and other relevant department.
  • Attend and report National Education Cluster meetings on a monthly and ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure effective communication with senior management, de facto/Ministry of Education, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Processing project documents and ensuring that all approvals are obtained and archived in the main office.
  • Actively participate in AWEC main office meetings and share the project progress with AWEC senior management.
  • Support the procurement process of TLMs, hygiene & winterization kits procurement process at the main office level.
  • Support and facilitate main office M&E team field visits to the project site and reporting back to AWEC management.
  • Support the Education Project manager in the preparation and submission of Project Reports.
  • Facilitate that all key activities, milestones, timelines, and resources are in place for the successful implementation of the project.
  • Support M&E and Reporting Officer in collecting the required information for monitoring, reporting, assessments, and success stories regarding the CBE classes;
  • Prepare required reports and regular updates to M&E/Reporting Officer and Project Manager regarding project activities progress, success stories, assessments, coordination, training, meetings, and provision of teaching and learning materials in AWEC main office with technical support of Program Manager and Education Advisor.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager;

Job Requirements:

Education and Qualification

  • At least five to seven (3-4) years of work experience in education-related projects (e.g., ALP, CBE, TLS, and EIE projects) and good experience in work with communities and DEDs/PEDs;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Management, or other relevant academic disciplines or equivalent work experience;
  • Very Excellent speaking and writing skills in local languages (Pashto and Dari) and good English skills (spoken and written);
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills and understanding of the local context;
  • Good skills in MS Office Package and Internet applications;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders, local communities, and project team;
  • Punctual and hardworking, desire to meet deadlines and serve rural communities;
  • Ability of regular field trips to project-targeted districts and communities;
