Job Description
The Ultrasound specialist (Sonographer) diagnoses patients with high level accuracy as per the prescribed/requested prescription, treating them with the most appropriate professional behavior, with special attention to cultural and ethical norms. The Sonographer diagnoses patients professionally and without any discrimination regarding religion, race, ethnic, sex or any other meanings. The Sonographer reports to all specialist doctors OPD and IPD unit, and works collaboratively with him/her to guide and smoothly run the Ultrasound Diagnosis activities.
Specific responsibilities and duties:
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Ultrasound Diagnosis Center position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills in English, Dari and Pashtu.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, able to work successfully on multiple tasks, and can work independently to conduct the day-to-day operations.
The ideal candidate should assumes full responsibility of keeping medical records of his/her patients in good condition, and have the capacity to train the doctors in field of ultrasound.
Preparing the patient(s) for the Ultrasound examination
Performing ultrasound examinations that yield important diagnostic information
Recording and gathering ultrasound data, and keeping proper, usable and accessible records.
Analyzing the data collected and reporting the ultrasound findings to the patient and relevant doctor in an oral and written fashion for diagnosis
Using independent judgment whether to extend the scope of the ultrasound examination or not based on the ultrasound findings
Interacting and collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals for providing a good quality care of the patients
Evaluate new equipment and products for possible future use. He/she also develops new techniques for performing the examinations.
Any other relevant tasks/assignments assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
Experience / Competencies:
Experience in relevant unit in diagnostic ultrasound and reporting more than 2 years
Previous experience in Hospitals and Diagnostic clinics.
Strong working knowledge of written and spoken English and Dari/Pashto
Ability to use Microsoft office applications
Team-player with good inter-personal skills, willing to support others and share workloads
capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels
Ability to adapt communication strategies for different situations
