Job Descriptions:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food menue for the ELCS main office involving Afghan and continential food items\
  • Prepare daily food for the staff
  • Work with operations unit to draft a list of food items to be purchased on daily basis
  • Oversee purchase of food items ensuring quality and safety of the food ingredients
  • Oversee preparation of the food items
  • Maintain safety and clearnliness in the kitchen
  • Prepare meals (Lunch) for staff during official hours.
  • Provide quality catering services, which meet the needs of staff and the operational requirements of the ELCS.
  • Prepare ingredients for meals such as washing vegetables, chop season vegetables & meat, etc.
  • Follow food health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Store all food properly.
  • Keep records and reorder stock and food supplies related to the kitchen.
  • Keep cups, teapots, etc clean and prepare tea and boiled water for tea.
  • Report to the Admin about all needs for maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Any Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Clean up kitchen, room.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment

Job Requirements:

  • At least literate, 12 Grade graduate is preferred with One (5) years of experience
  • Having the required skills for the position
  • Honest, reliable, and committed to working hard
  • Relevant experience working with NGO/INGOs is preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of Afghan food
  • Knowledge of  continential dishes
  • Ability to prepare local traditional Afghan food
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare continental food
  • Working experience preparing food most common in South Asian Countries
