Job Descriptions:

Summary of Key Functions:

  • Support project in conducting business mapping, community attitude, business and market research, business opportunities and labor market surveys for project interventions and its beneficiaries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual business and marketing action plans for CBARD.
  • Formulate economic empowerment activities in relation to create and mainstream in business and enterprises.
  • Work closely with external partners including Private Sector, Micro-Finance Institutions and others to identify sources and opportunities for business and marketing Agriculture and None-Agriculture interventions.
  • Formulate demand driven business and marketing manuals and guidelines for project beneficiaries.
  • Initiate and lead training, awareness raising and capacity building activities to project participants and beneficiaries.
  • Develop and support the implementation of business and marketing strategies to support the transformation of targeted producers, farmers and farmer-members of Farmers’ organizations from non-commercial into semi-commercial farmers to create employment opportunities. Conduct similar activities for none-agriculture interventions such as vocational trainings.
  • In close coordination with project manager, Livelihood Officer, and other technical members, conduct Job-Fair, Trade- Fair and Employment Engagement Events.
  • Conduct research on job placement available in targeted area and neighborhood places in market areas. Design Corporate Strategy and Diversification to support value chain entrepreneurs to tap into these markets with regular review for all time.
  • Make regular monitoring/follow visits to field to ensure and planned activities are running well and proper and timely technical support to the beneficiaries provided.

Expected Results:

  • Develop business case and modules for Marketing Training for business development.
  • Maintain professional relationships with team members, promote a strong spirit amongst the team and provide oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their roles.
  • Establish relationships with different stakeholders within and outside of the identified value chains to improve the operations of businesses and entrepreneurs.

Key relations:

Internal: Project manager, Project supervisor, livelihood officer, Program Quality Unit, project beneficiaries, government related departments, NGOs (local and national), forums, CARE internal departments.

External: Government relevant counterparts, Microfinance Associations, Private Sectors, Project’s Stakeholders, target communities and business institutions.

 

Duty Locations:

Balkh sub office with regular visits to targeted districts in Balkh.

Excellent planning, conceptual, entrepreneur, organizing, analytical, networking and negotiation skills, Problem-solving, decision-making and delegation skills strong leadership, good verbal and written communication skills in English, Dari and Pashtu, capacity to adapt to a changing environment and working under tight deadlines.

Skills and Experience:

Excellent computer skills especially in Word and Excel.

Excellent interpersonal and communication, supervisory and coaching skill

Education:

At least Bachelors degree in Economics, Business Development, Social Science, Development Studies and other relevant fields. Master degree in relevant fields is preferred.

            Work Experience:

At least 3 years of work experiences in relevant field.

            Languages Skills:

Fluency in written and spoken English, Dari and Pushto languages
