About Your Voice Organization (YVO):

Your Voice Organization (YVO) is a National NGO registered as a non-governmental, nonprofit organization under the constitution of NGO law of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with the Ministry of Economy. YVO was established in 2019 and works on different humanitarian sectors such as education, peacebuilding, food security and livelihood, and the provision of different kinds of emergency responses and relief to the affected people. YVO was established by JVC’s commitment to the localization of its Afghan office. 

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Education Trainer, reporting directly to the ECW Project Coordinator, will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the Education Can't Wait project in Nangarhar Province. The role involves designing, planning, and conducting training sessions, developing training curriculums, and actively engaging in community-based education initiatives, particularly in Community-Based Education (CBE) and Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) classes. The Education Trainer will also liaise with relevant government authorities such as the Provincial Education Department (PED) and District Education Department (DED) to ensure alignment with national education goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct training sessions for teachers involved in CBE and ALP classes.
  • Develop comprehensive training curriculums aligned with project objectives.
  • Assess and address the professional development needs of education staff.
  • Conduct awareness sessions for students' parents to encourage enrollment in CBE and ALP classes.
  • Engage in community mobilization efforts to enhance community participation.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to strengthen community relations.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities such as the PED and DED to align project activities with national education policies.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and guidelines.
  • Identify areas for capacity building among education staff and community members.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for training programs.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of training sessions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with the ECW Project Coordinator to ensure project goals are met.
  • Provide regular reports on training activities, community mobilization, government engagements, and other relevant aspects.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree will be an advantage. 
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in a relevant role and a total of 2 years of general experience in the community.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering educational training programs.
  • Familiarity with community-based education initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in the local languages (Dari/Pashtu).
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Child education system in Afghanistan.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with both Government and non-government organizations.
  • Proficiency in generating comprehensive reports with qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Exceptional skills in implementing activities in coordination with District Education Departments, other Government officials, local elected bodies, NGOs, project experts, and community members.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure programs are completed within scheduled timelines.
  • Ability to organize and conduct seminars and workshops for teacher and staff development.
  • Ability to work under pressure with honesty and responsibility.
