About Mediothek Afghanistan

Mediothek Afghanistan was founded in Germany in the year 1993 with the aim of strengthening education in Afghanistan and keeping the Afghan cultural and intellectual heritage alive. Capacity building of youths to support a developed, sustainable, and peaceful future for Afghanistan and the region through education, community building, and media development. Delivery of humanitarian assistance for people, especially women, most in need, implementing the humanitarian-development.

Job Description

The project manager will be directly responsible to the Head of Programs (HOP), project planning, implementation, reporting and monitoring, and evaluation of the activities and project. The PM will build up the current project and work closely with HOP, donor agencies, and government-related ministries and directorates.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning and monitoring the project
  • adopting any delegation and use of project assurance roles within agreed reporting structures
  • preparing and maintaining the project, stage, and exception plans as required
  • managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  • monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
  • identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
  • develop and maintain an agreed project plan and detailed stage plans
  • Generate accurate and timely reports at various stages of the project life cycle.
  • Monitor project activities to guarantee their alignment with established scopes and timelines.
  • Identify potential risks to the project and conduct thorough risk assessments.

Job Requirements

 

  • The applicant must have a Bachelor Degree is required; Master is preferred.
  • It is required to have a minimum of five years of work experience with humanitarian programs.
  • Minimum five years of Project Management experience.  Knowledge and experience of M&E tools, methodologies, and approaches (quantitative, qualitative, and participatory) is required.
  • Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written English, Dari, and Pashto.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office package and the Internet, are required.
  • Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team to undertake tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and be organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen, and respect for colleagues.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated critical thinker who is willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Ability to travel to field in region as required/directed.
