MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The objective of the Guard position will be to provide security services to MSH staff and property in Afghanistan. 

Major Activities / Responsibilities:

Reporting

• Provide security services to both staff and premises of MSH.
• Reports to the Security Supervisor

Main Duties:

Provide general security for the personnel and staff at the office. This includes:

• Access control
• Search techniques
• Sign in – booking in for visitors and staff
• Monitoring CCTV
• Reporting defects in security equipment
• Immediate actions on security related incidents
• Incident reporting including with the authorities
• Patrolling the grounds (where applicable)
• Any other duty assigned within a security context
• Manage crises situations acting lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with staff.
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
• Make use of monitoring surveillance equipment.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
• Permit only authorized personnel entry to premises.
• Obtain help by sounding alarms when the situation calls for it.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
• Restrain trespassers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Secondary School Certificate of Education preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 1-2 years in security guarding experience
• Experience working with international organizations preferred.
• Live and hail from the province

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Knowledge on workplace violence awareness and prevention programs.
• Knowledge on network access and monitoring policies.
• Local knowledge of the office environment

COMPETENCIES:          

• Eligible candidates must have excellent ethical conduct,  honesty and no criminal record. Be medically fit, and have  good inter-personal communication skills.
