Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Coordinator and the technical supervision of the Gender Specialist (Safeguarding) and Programme Officer (Area-Based Approach), the incumbent will support field-level implementation of the Women's Participation Project (WPP) and provide operational support for gender and inclusion mainstreaming across OUR CLIENT programming, with particular focus on Resilience and Solutions and CCCM interventions. The incumbent will assist field teams, partners, and communities to apply gender-responsive approaches, facilitate women's participation, and integrate gender equality considerations into project implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

Job Requirements

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of activities under the Women's Participation Project (WPP) and related gender equality and inclusion initiatives.
  • Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data related to women's participation, gender equality, social inclusion, and community engagement.
  • Act as focal point for the coordination of WPP activities at field level, maintaining liaison with programme teams, community structures, implementing partners, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate implementation and follow-up actions.
  • Support the integration of gender equality, inclusion, and women's participation approaches across programme activities, in line with OUR CLIENT policies, standards, and institutional commitments on gender mainstreaming.
  •  Support assessments, data collection exercises, community consultations, and analyses related to barriers, needs, priorities, and opportunities for women's participation, and contribute to evidence-based programming.
  • Draft status reports, success stories, identify implementation gaps, bring them to the attention of the supervisor, and suggest corrective measures to enhance project delivery and impact.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, capacity-building activities, awareness sessions, and training events for staff, partners, community groups, and other stakeholders on women's participation, gender equality, and inclusion.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, field missions, and coordination forums. Maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, community representatives, implementing partners, United Nations agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
  • Monitor the work of implementing partners and community-level structures involved in WPP implementation and report any issues, risks, or non-compliance to the RSU unit.
  • Provide inputs to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance materials, concept papers, assessment tools, and project proposals related to women's participation, gender equality, and inclusion programming.
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to project staff, community mobilizers, facilitators, and partners.
  • Perform such other relevant duties as may be assigned.

 Required Qualifications and Experience

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • High School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.

 Experience:

  • Experience in liaising with government authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-government or government institutions/organisation in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in gender mainstreaming, women’s participation and leadership, GBV, participatory processes, community engagement, project implementation, and stakeholder coordination.

Skills:

  • Good knowledge of migration-related issues relevant to OUR CLIENT’s work, including gender mainstreaming, gender analysis, and GBV risk mitigation.
  • Experience in community engagement, gender and inclusion, stakeholder coordination, and conflict analysis/mitigation.
  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, training, workshops, and capacity development.
  • Knowledge of UN and donor programming, with experience supporting coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organizational, communication, coordination, follow-up, and computer skills, with the ability to deliver quality results within deadlines. 

Languages:

  • Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto is required (oral and written).
