Haul Truck Operator

1. Position Purpose

The Haul Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned haul trucks for transporting fluorite ore, waste rock, overburden, and other mine materials between the mining face, stockpiles, processing/loading areas, and other designated locations.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate the assigned haul truck according to mine procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Transport ore, waste, and other materials to designated locations without mixing different ore grades or ore with waste.
• Coordinate safely with excavator and loader operators during loading and dumping.
• Conduct a pre-start inspection of tires, brakes, steering, engine fluids, lights, horn, reverse alarm, and other critical components.
• Immediately report mechanical problems, damage, accidents, unsafe conditions, or abnormal vehicle performance.
• Maintain safe speeds and follow designated haul roads, traffic rules, and dumping procedures.
• Keep the assigned truck clean and cooperate with mechanics for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain accurate trip, tonnage, operating-hour, and fuel records as required.
• Report unsafe haul roads, unstable dumping areas, rockfall, flooding, excessive dust, or other hazards.
• Follow all mine HSE requirements and wear required PPE.
• Protect company equipment and fuel from misuse, loss, or unauthorized use.

3. Safety & Conduct

The Operator shall not:

• Operate equipment under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Use a mobile phone while operating the truck.
• Carry unauthorized passengers.
• Speed, race, overload, or operate the truck recklessly.
• Operate equipment with a known serious safety defect.
• Use the truck or company fuel for unauthorized purposes.
• Leave an accident, equipment damage, or mechanical problem unreported.

Any negligence, reckless operation, deliberate equipment abuse, fuel misuse, falsification of records, or repeated safety violations may result in disciplinary action in accordance with company policy.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid license/authorization appropriate for operating the assigned truck.
• Previous experience operating heavy trucks, preferably in mining, quarrying, or construction.
• Ability to operate safely on rough, steep, and unpaved mine roads.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and mechanical problems.
• Ability to maintain basic trip and fuel records.

Good safety awareness, discipline, and teamwork.

Performance Standards

Performance will be assessed based on safe operation, productivity/trips completed, equipment care, fuel efficiency, accurate records, attendance, ore/waste segregation, and compliance with supervisor and HSE instructions
