Médecins du Monde - France (MdM-F) is an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations, the world over, including Afghanistan. It seeks to stimulate voluntary commitment from doctors, other health care providers, and from those whose expertise in other fields is needed for its activities, to enlist all competent support required for the achievement of its projects, and to seek at all times to encourage close working relationships with populations in its care.

Scope of Work:
The watchman/guard ensures the general security of people and goods in the MdM Office / Guest House / warehouse.
He maintains a clean record (containing civil status and signature, following a given pattern) of the people accessing the premises.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•    The Watchman/guard is responsible for the security of the assigned area and is responsible for any disappearance occurred in his working area.
o    The Watchman/guard remains vigilant within the assigned area
o    The Watchman/guard regularly patrols the assigned area.
o    The Watchman/guard must not leave his duty until the next shift Watchman/guard arrival. In case the next shift Watchman/guard does not come for any reason, then the on-duty Watchman/guard should inform his Superior to relieve him from duty.
•    Inform the supervisor if anything on the MdM premises is missing or damaged.
•    Allow only MdM project personnel to enter the premises. All visitors must wait outside the gate until they get permission to enter. Enter permission is given by a member of the MdM supervision team. All visitors (non MdM staff) must be recorded in the visit book.
•    Keep the yard/compound of the MdM premises clean and orderly.
•    Ensure that the security lights in MdM compounds are all in working condition and report immediately any problem to his Supervisor.
•    Help to load/unload trucks or cars upon request of the MdM team.
•    Maintain the proper functioning of his equipment used for work and report any broken materials.
•    Ensure all doors of the building are closed and/or locked at night.
•    Report any security related issues to the supervisor
•    Compound by Garden duties:
o    water the plants when necessary and take care of the whole garden.
o    Put in the appropriate area the rubbish or burn it.
o    make sure the water tank is always full.

•    Compound by generator duties:
o    Switch On/Off the generator as per fixed timings or as per request of MdM management.
o    Clean the generator and check oil level, filter etc. before starting. In case of any maintenance record then immediately report to supervisor.
o    make sure the fuel tank is always full. (Not less than 1/4th). 
o    Maintain Log book including of fuel and maintenance record.
•    Participate in internal work meetings and inform the supervisor on logistic issues.
•    Maintaining full confidentiality for all work-related information
•    Other duties can be expected regarding issues faced on
 

•    High school graduate-12th class passed. Preferably to have 3+ years of experience especially with I/NGO’s.
•    Able to understand and speak some English (time, directions…). Speaking Dari & Pushto is compulsory. 
•    Has to be very punctual and committed to MdM programs.
•    Should report any case of emergency.
•    Sense of confidentiality.
•    Have knowledge about basic security procedural measures.
