Scope of Work:
The SRHR Mentorship Trainer is responsible for strengthening the capacity of healthcare providers through on-site mentorship, coaching, and training in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in compliance with the MdM and RH/MOPH standards. The position will support quality improvement initiatives, ensure adherence to national protocols and clinical guidelines, and contribute to improving access to and utilization of quality SRHR services within supported health facilities.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SRHR Mentorship Trainer Will be responsible for the Following SRH activités Under the direct guidance of the MdM Médical Coordinator and Project manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Capacity Building and Mentorship
- Assess the competencies, performance, and capacity-building needs of healthcare providers/staff through direct observation, review of clinical practice, and relevant assessment tools.
- Develop and implement tailored mentorship and capacity-building plans based on identified competency gaps and programe priorities.
- Provide practical clinical coaching on SRHR services, including family planning, ANC, PNC, safe delivery, essential newborn care, postpartum family planning, adolescent SRH, infection prevention and control, recognition of danger signs, and appropriate referral.
- Conduct direct observation of clinical practice and provide practical demonstration, coaching and feedback to midwives based on identified competency gaps.Assess training and capacity-building needs of healthcare providers.
- Develop and implement mentorship plans for health staff.
- Provide practical clinical coaching on SRHR service delivery, including family planning, maternal health, antenatal care (ANC), postnatal care (PNC), and adolescent reproductive health.
- Support healthcare providers in applying national and international SRHR guidelines and standards.
- Organize and facilitate training workshops, refresher courses, and learning sessions.
- Follow up on mentorship and capacity-building activities to assess progress, identify remaining gaps, and adapt mentorship plans accordingly.
2. Quality Improvement
- Monitor the quality of SRHR services through direct observation, review of clinical practices, relevant checklists and service data.
- Identify gaps in service delivery and develop improvement plans.
- Follow up on quality improvement actions and monitor progress and relevant quality indicators to assess improvement.
- Support health facilities in implementing quality improvement measures.
- Promote respectful maternity care, privacy, confidentiality, informed choice and client-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Consider client/service-user feedback to identify areas for improvement in the quality and accessibility of services.
3. Technical Support
- Provide technical leadership, clinical guidance, interpretation of relevant standards and guidelines, problem-solving, and technical support to healthcare facilities and programe teams on SRHR service delivery.
- Provide technical and clinical guidance on family planning, ANC, PNC, safe delivery, essential newborn care, postpartum family planning, adolescent SRH and referral of maternal and newborn complications.
- Support the integration of SRHR services into routine primary healthcare services and ensure appropriate linkages and referrals.
- Promote evidence-based practices and adherence to Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) guidelines.
- Support the development and updating of training materials, mentorship tools, and technical guidance as required.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Prepare regular mentorship reports and recommendations.
- Review and analyze relevant SRHR service data and indicators to identify gaps and inform mentorship priorities.
- Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of training, coaching sessions, and participant attendance.
5. Coordination and Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with health facility in charge, Provincial Public Health Directorate (PPHD), and project teams.
- Participate in the SRHR technical meetings and coordination forums.
- Support knowledge-sharing and peer learning among healthcare providers.
- Represent the project in relevant SRHR-related meetings when requested.
6. Safeguarding and Accountability
- Adhere to MdM safeguarding, PSEA, and other relevant organizational policies and procedures.
· Promote confidentiality, dignity, privacy, informed choice, and respectful treatment of all beneficiaries/service-users.
· Promote safe and confidential reporting and referral of safeguarding, PSEA, protection, and other concerns in line with MdM procedures.
- Ensure accountability to affected populations and communities.
