Job Summary:
The guard must secure and watch the Tdh compound /Guest houses and premises and the attached goods such as Tdh properties, vehicles, personal belongings and Guest belongings. Welcome and check visitors, register them and provide them with visitor’s card and make sure to keep clean and tidy the inside and outside of the compound.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect the compound at the beginning of the duty and brief the following guard before ending the duty;
- Register all house equipment, including vehicles coming in / going out of the office/guest houses;
- Check the visitor’s identity (ID card) and bodies before letting them enter the Tdh compound;
- File the “visitor and Event” book and give to the person a visitor’s card. (National and international people);
- No visitor should enter the Tdh building without authorization from the visited person;
- To check the fuel/gas of generator, lamps, gas cylinders,s and stoves in the building and report the responsible person in order to take action to solve the problem;
- Should not stay inside the premises (unless specified) but in the court or garden in order to watch the street outside the compound;
- Responsible for sending electricity bills to the office on the date of receipt from;
- To ensure the security lamps are ON in the compound during the night shift of the duty;
- Closely check and follow up on the generator;
- Refer to the Logistician in case of a problem with the generator;
- Make sure that the water tanker is always filled and the water pump is fully functional;
- To look after garden: cleaning and watering of the garden (day guard);
- Clean front as well as inside of the office / Guest house premises;
- Responsible for cleaning snow from the roofs of the building during the winter season if required;
- Keep him self-aware of the security situation. Any incident or suspicious event must be reported to the security officer or expatriate team;
- Make sure that all office equipment is in its appropriate place in the office / Guest houses;
- Provide any assistance to the staff in charge of the house maintenance.
- Help in loading and unloading incoming and –outgoing materials from the office/guest houses;
- Should not sleep during the duty and patrol every 30 minutes during the day and night;
- Should not leave duty without informing the supervisor.

- Commit to ensuring the best implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy in Afghanistan.
- Immediately report if you may have observed the staff breaching the CPP.
- In case an external visitor would like to see the project beneficiaries make sure she/he obtained prior permission from the Area Manager and signed the CPP leaflet for external visitors.
- Commit to inform supervisors and deal with any cases, allegations, or the possibility of transgression, even potential, of the Child Protection Policy.
