Afghan Health and Development Services (AHDS) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization founded by Afghans on April 7th, 1990.  AHDS is an active member of the Afghan NGOs Coordination Bureau (ANCB), the Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief (ACBAR), and the Alliance of Health Organizations (AHO). AHDS is one of the first signatories of the Codes of Conduct for NGOs engaged in humanitarian action, reconstruction, and development in Afghanistan.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and certified Nutrition Counselor to join our wellness team. In this role, you will assess clients' dietary needs, develop personalized meal plans, and provide ongoing support to help individuals achieve their health goals. The ideal candidate combines strong nutritional science knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills to motivate and educate clients effectively according to the national nutrtion guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and health history reviews.
• Develop customized nutrition plans based on clients' health conditions, goals, and lifestyles.
• Provide one-on-one counseling and group workshops on healthy eating habits.
• Monitor client progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Stay current with the latest nutritional research and dietary guidelines.

• Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Proven experience in clinical or community nutrition counseling.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software is a plus.
