Job Description

Job Summary:
AFGA seeks qualified youth for a Last Mile Assurance (LMA) officer who will be responsible for supporting youth volunteers for last-mile assurance-related activities, with more focus on RH-related supplies and response in emergency situations. The youth in the LMA project officer will be responsible for overall project activities, overseeing and supporting the volunteers for their daily activities/ involvement, making plans for the volunteers’ activities, collecting and compiling the reports, volunteers’ capacity building, and coordination activities, including close working with the project donor.

Responsibilities and scope of work:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Close supervision and leading of the volunteer teams in different provinces.
  • Regular visits to the team activity sites to ensure that volunteers are able and working as per the approved ToR.
  • Preparation of the activity plan as per the supply distribution report and humanitarian response plan.
  • Coordination and liaison with the project activity stakeholders for smooth implementation of the project.
  • Working closely with the project donor team to ensure that all the planned tasks are completed as per plan.
  • Working closely with the emergency response teams to mobilize the volunteers for humanitarian assistance activities.
  • Representing AFGA in the project related meeting with the project donor and at the sub-cluster level, or any other level.
  • Collecting the project activities report, stories, and photos and developing a project technical report as per AFGA and project donor requirements.
  • Supporting the onboarding of new volunteers during the project.
  • Continuing capacity assessment and building of the volunteers in certain areas of work where needed.
  • Contributing to the preparation of project plans and reports technically as per AFGA and donor requirements.
  • Continuous tracking of the project resources to ensure that the project funds are utilized as per the project budget plan.
  • Contributing to the project activities with supporting departments (finance, logistics and HR/admin) to ensure that all the tasks are completed within the time and in good quality.
  • Participating as the main person for the volunteers' performance evaluation as per the AFGA HR policy and procedures.
  • Supporting the program manager for the project plan and budget development, particularly on the youth in LMA activities.

Job Requirements

  • Graduated from a well-known university in the field of management, development, or any relevant faculty.
  • Have at least 4 years of proven experience in project management, particularly on youth and adolescent projects with national and international NGOs.
  • Have good skills and ability in team management and conflict management.
  • Having ability of writing technical reports of the project.
  • Good writing and speaking skills in English.
  • Have experience in the field of volunteer activities.
  • Understanding the supply chain of RH supplies will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian assistance principles and procedures will be a plus.
