Translator

Maihan Humanitarian Convergence Organization (MHCO) is a national non-government, non-political, and non-profit organization registered with the Ministry of Economy, committed to delivering humanitarian services across Afghanistan. MHCO focuses on various sectors including Health, Education, Protection, Nutrition, LivelihoodS, Food Security, and Organizational Development.

The Translator will provide high-quality translation services between English, Dari, and Pashto for a wide range of technical, communication, administrative, and audiovisual materials.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Translate documents from English to Dari/Pashto and vice versa with high accuracy.
• Translate content across multiple formats including reports, manuals, guidance notes, press releases, captions, scripts, infographics, and subtitles.
• Ensure translations preserve meaning, tone, technical terminology, and cultural appropriateness.
• Translate all text including tables, figures, boxes, captions, and annexes.
• Maintain original formatting and layout of documents.
• Apply approved terminology and organizational glossaries consistently.
• Conduct self-review and internal quality checks before submission.
• Ensure secure handling and confidentiality of all documents.

• Master’s degree in Translation Studies, Linguistics, Literature, or related field.
• Valid TOEFL/IELTS certification.
• Excellent command of English, Dari, and Pashto.

Required Experience

• Minimum 8 years professional translation experience.
• Experience translating technical, humanitarian, legal, and communication materials.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong attention to detail and linguistic accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple assignments.
• Proficiency in MS Office and translation tools
