About Organization for Women Empowerment (OWE):

The Organization for Women Empowerment (OWE) was established in 2014 as a non-profit and development organization - registered with the NGO Department of the Ministry of Economy, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. OWE aims to help impoverished communities, particularly women, youth, and children, gain social, economic and political potency by raising awareness, building capacity, educational and vocational skills training, and creating professional opportunities. OWE is a women’s organization for women. OWE's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, OWE is one of the successful organizations in the community, NGO Coordination Bureau, and region.

 

Job Descriptions:

  • Contributes to the design, organization and delivery of training and development programs for the enhancement of competencies and upgrading of staff technical skills and to meet mandate implementation.
  • Contributes to the design of mission-readiness and orientation programs which encompass a range of activities including, inter alia, technical and substantive training, safety and security, induction training, leadership and management.
  • Contributes to the design of specific training programs to meet unique mission operational requirements and staff development needs.
  • Assists in reviewing draft job openings ensuring that the evaluation criteria and responsibilities are in line with OWE and standard/individual job descriptions;
  • Co-coordinates and organizes specialized training programs with the various functional and substantive areas of the project.
  • Contributes to the development of systems and methods for disseminating information to mission personnel on training and staff development opportunities, including distance learning, self-study, and other sources of learning.
  • Assists with the monitoring and documentation of issues related to conditions of service of staff and advises the supervisor of any developments;
  • Collects and maintains statistical data on training activities and responds to queries and requests for information on training programs.
  • Contributes to the preparation and monitoring of budgetary allocations through regular reviews.
  • Drafts routine and ad hoc outputs and provides effective monitoring reports and data.
  • Performs any other duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • At least bachelor, social sciences, business administration or equivalent, MA preferable
  • Prior experience working with UN and WFP agencies and project implementation, grants, contracts and services
  • Fluency in Dari or Pashto with strong communication skills with fluency in the English language required.
  • 5 years of work experience within UN agencies local NGOs or other relevant organizations on capacity-building projects
  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in similar positions.
  • Ability to conceptualize, design and plan for projects and to prepare reports and proposals.
  • Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with the government and non-government organizations and effective outreach and networking
  • Ability to build close working relationships and trust with the Project team in relation to program implementation.
  • Ability to build strong lines of communication with stakeholders and within the team;
  • Ability to travel to provinces of Afghanistan
