Job Description
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development & Maintenance
• Maintain and support a portfolio of WordPress sites built on custom themes.
• Develop, customize, and troubleshoot WordPress plugins to extend site functionality.
• Perform ongoing website updates, upgrades, and general maintenance.
• Redesign and improve site presentation, layout, and user experience.
• Write clean, maintainable PHP and MySQL code, and solid frontend HTML/CSS.
AWS Server Maintenance
• Maintain and monitor AWS Lightsail instances and EC2 servers.
• Perform routine server maintenance: updates, patching, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve server performance and uptime issues on WordPress/LAMP environments.
SEO
• Apply basic on-page SEO best practices during builds, redesigns, and updates.
• Ensure sites are technically optimized for search (page speed, structure, metadata).
Ecommerce
Development & Content Operations
•
Build,
maintain, and troubleshoot ecommerce stores on WooCommerce, Shopify, and custom
PHP CMS platforms.
•
Manage
bulk uploads and updates of products, content, and graphics across multiple
catalogs.
•
Perform
ongoing store updates, redevelopment, and maintenance.
•
Apply
strong frontend/CSS skills to keep storefronts consistent, responsive, and
on-brand.
Domains,
Hosting, SSL & Security
•
Manage
domain registrations, DNS, and hosting accounts across the portfolio.
•
Set up,
renew, and troubleshoot SSL certificates.
•
Apply
security best practices: hardening, patching, backups, malware remediation,
access control.
AI, Marketing
& Analytics
•
Use AI
platforms to produce high-quality graphics, video, and content for product and
marketing pages.
•
Integrate
AI-powered plugins, tools, and automations to streamline content and
operational workflows.
•
Support
integration between stores/websites and social media accounts.
•
Set up and
manage SEO, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
•
Monitor
traffic and conversion metrics and recommend improvements.
Job Requirements
•
5+ years
professional experience in PHP and MySQL development.
•
Deep,
hands-on experience with WordPress, including custom theme work.
•
Proven
experience developing custom WordPress plugins.
•
Practical
experience maintaining AWS Lightsail instances and/or EC2 servers.
•
Strong
frontend skills: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design.
•
Working
knowledge of basic on-page SEO principles.
• Ability to independently manage updates, redesigns, and maintenance across multiple sites.
•
5+ years
professional experience in ecommerce development.
•
Strong
hands-on experience with WooCommerce and Shopify.
•
Experience
with custom-built PHP content management / ecommerce systems.
•
Working
knowledge of domain and hosting management (DNS, registrars, renewals).
•
Experience
installing and managing SSL certificates.
•
Solid
understanding of web application security practices.
•
Familiarity
with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and core SEO principles.
