Job Description

Job summary:

The Share-Based Urologist provides specialized medical services on a shared work commitment basis, delivering high-quality care in line with SafeCare accreditation standards. This role involves offering expert consultations, performing procedures, and collaborating with hospital staff while maintaining flexibility in work arrangements. The consultant also supports the hospital’s mission by contributing to clinical excellence, education, and quality improvement initiatives.  

Job Responsibilities:

 

a.         Regular Responsibilities:

ü  Provide consultations, diagnosis, and treatment in the respective specialty on scheduled days.

ü  Perform specialized procedures or interventions as required.

ü  Ensure proper documentation of patient care, adhering to hospital policies and standards.

ü  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.

ü  Adhere to hospital protocols and SafeCare requirements in all clinical activities.

ü  Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits related to the specialty.

ü  Ensure patient safety by following infection control and risk management guidelines.

ü  Provide guidance to Sr./Medical Officers, Residents, and allied healthcare professionals.

ü  Contribute to departmental teaching activities, case discussions, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions.

ü  Engage in clinical research projects to advance medical knowledge in the respective discipline.

ü  Contribute to the development of evidence-based guidelines and protocols for the hospital.

ü  Foster effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

ü  Participate in departmental and hospital meetings to align with institutional goals.

b.         Periodic Responsibilities:

ü  Attend national and international conferences, workshops, and training programs to stay updated on advancements in the relevant field.

ü  Maintain relevant certifications and licensure for practice.

ü  Provide input for the periodic review and development of departmental and hospital policies.

ü  Support initiatives aimed at achieving and maintaining SafeCare accreditation.

ü  Participate in hospital outreach programs, health camps, and awareness activities as agreed upon in the consultant’s contract.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Education:

ü  Medical Degree from a recognized university.

ü  Postgraduate Medical Education is the relevant specialty.

ü  Registered with the Afghan Medical Council (AMC)

Knowledge, competencies, and Skills:

ü  In-depth understanding of the respective medical disciplines.

ü  Familiarity with SafeCare accreditation standards.

ü  Clinical excellence in managing complex cases.

ü  Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff under shared commitments.

ü  Excellent diagnostic and procedural skills in the specialty.

ü  Excellent communication (in Pashto, Dari, and English languages) and interpersonal skills.

ü  Proficiency in medical documentation and use of electronic medical records.

ü  Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Office Packages.

Work experience:

ü  2 to 3 years of experience post-specialization in a hospital setting.

ü  Proven expertise in the respective specialties, with a track record of high-quality care delivery.
