Job Description

The Community Mobilizer will play a key role in identifying, mobilizing, screening, and supporting women-led micro and small businesses under the Access to Finance Project. The incumbent will work closely with the Business Analyst and Access to Finance team to conduct field assessments, collect and verify beneficiary data, coordinate training activities, and ensure effective communication with project participants throughout the implementation process.

The position requires extensive fieldwork, strong community engagement skills, and a commitment to promoting women's economic empowerment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Community Mobilization

  • Conduct community outreach and awareness sessions to introduce the project objectives, eligibility criteria, and available support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, women's groups, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Encourage eligible women entrepreneurs to participate in the project.

Survey and Beneficiary Identification

  • Conduct field surveys of approximately 200 women-owned micro and small businesses within the provincial center.
  • Collect accurate socioeconomic and business information using approved survey tools.
  • Verify beneficiary information and ensure completeness and accuracy of collected data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all beneficiary information.

Data Analysis and Beneficiary Screening

  • Review and analyze collected survey data.
  • Identify and recommend approximately 100 eligible women entrepreneurs based on the project's eligibility criteria.
  • Prepare beneficiary profiles and submit recommendations to the Business Analyst.
  • Update beneficiary databases as required.

Training Coordination

  • Contact shortlisted beneficiaries and coordinate their participation in training sessions.
  • Prepare participant lists and training attendance records.
  • Ensure beneficiaries receive timely information regarding training schedules and venues.
  • Support logistics during training sessions.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Assist trainers in conducting pre-training and post-training assessments.
  • Record attendance and evaluation results.
  • Support data entry and reporting on training outcomes.
  • Follow up with beneficiaries after training when required.

Reporting

  • Submit weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of surveys, beneficiary files, attendance sheets, and field activities.
  • Report challenges, risks, and lessons learned to the Business Analyst.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support other project activities as assigned.
  • Represent AYEO professionally during field activities.
  • Comply with AYEO policies, safeguarding principles, code of conduct, and donor requirements.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Experience 

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in community mobilization, field surveys, beneficiary identification, business development, microfinance, livelihoods, women's economic empowerment, or NGO project implementation.

Languages

  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto (both spoken and written).
  • Basic English language skills are desirable.
