Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2014 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.

Job Description

The Agriculture and Livelihood Officer will play a central role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of agriculture and livelihood interventions aimed at improving food security, increasing agricultural productivity, strengthening household resilience, and enhancing sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable populations.

Job Description:

  • Plan and implement agriculture and livelihood activities according to approved work plans.
  • Conduct community assessments and beneficiary identification.
  • Supervise the distribution of agricultural inputs and livelihood support packages.
  • Ensure activities are implemented on time and meet quality standards.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress.
  • Provide technical guidance on crop production, horticulture, livestock management, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable farming practices.
  • Promote improved agricultural techniques, soil and water conservation, and integrated pest management.
  • Mobilize communities and facilitate participatory planning.
  • Organize and deliver training for farmers, producer groups, and community members.
  • Strengthen community institutions and encourage women's and youth participation in livelihood activities.
  • Monitor project activities against approved indicators.
  • Collect and verify field data using approved monitoring tools.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports.
  • Document lessons learned, case studies, and success stories.
  • Coordinate with government departments, local authorities, community leaders, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings and support donor monitoring visits.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, environmental and social safeguards, safeguarding, PSEA, and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP).
  • Promote gender equality, inclusion, and "Do No Harm" principles throughout project implementation.
  • Any other task assigning by the project manager and SMT.

Job Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in agriculture and livelihood programming, preferably with NGOs or donor-funded projects.
  • Experience in community mobilization, farmer training, and project implementation.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with government at national and sub-national levels, UN organizations, or any international development or aid agencies.

 Skills:

  • Sound technical knowledge of agriculture and livelihood interventions.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Kobo Toolbox or other digital data collection tools is an asset.
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Leadership, people management, report writing and communication skills

    Language skills:

  • Advanced Proficiency in English and Dari and/or Pashtu (written and spoken)
