Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lab Manager / In-Charge to oversee the daily operations of our hospital laboratory. The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable diagnostic services while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role includes supervising laboratory personnel, managing laboratory resources, and supporting continuous quality improvement to enhance patient care.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all daily laboratory operations.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate laboratory technologists and technicians.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing and reporting of laboratory test results.
  • Monitor and implement quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and performance of laboratory equipment.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and proper storage of laboratory reagents, consumables, and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with biosafety, infection prevention, and waste management protocols.
  • Review laboratory reports and investigate quality issues or non-conformities.
  • Coordinate internal and external quality assessment programs.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and departmental documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care.
  • Promote continuous improvement and staff development within the laboratory.
