About Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP)

Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Educational Program (AREP) was established in 1994 as an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization, AREP's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process, AREP is registered with the Ministry of Economy and member of Education International, ACBER, ANCB and DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S (The International Award for Young People).

AREP is working for women, youths, and children where disability is the top priority among the AREP's three targeted groups in three  main  AREP  core  competencies/  technical  expertise,  a):  EDUCATION  (Formal  and  Informal education, b): CAPACITY BUILDING, Vocational Education Skills Training, Awareness Initiatives (Civic Education, Human Rights, Anti-Corruptions, Access to Justice, Peace Building & Conflict Resolution)  and  other training for aforementioned target groups]  &  c): COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT providing them assistance in the multi-cultural program, government and community dialog, peacebuilding and Rehabilitation & Small Infrastructure) throughout Afghanistan.

Job Description

 

Job Summary

The HR Coordinator will support the implementation of human resources policies, procedures, and practices to ensure efficient HR operations. She will coordinate recruitment, staff records management, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Staffing

  • Coordinate recruitment processes including vacancy announcements, screening, interviews, and selection.
  • Maintain recruitment documentation and personnel files.
  • Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documents.

Human Resource Administration

  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
  • Monitor staff attendance, leave balances, and timesheets.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational HR policies.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a focal point for employee inquiries and HR-related concerns.
  • Support conflict resolution and staff welfare initiatives.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive working environment.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate staff performance evaluations and follow-up actions.
  • Assist supervisors in implementing performance improvement plans.

Capacity Building

  • Identify training needs and coordinate staff development activities.
  • Maintain training records and support learning initiatives.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational HR requirements.
  • Prepare HR reports as required by management.
  • Support audits and internal reviews related to HR documentation.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in Dari and English (written and spoken).
