Job Description

Job Summary:
The Business Development Officer will provide comprehensive technical support to women-led micro and small enterprises by strengthening their business management capacity, improving digital marketing skills, enhancing product branding and packaging, and facilitating market linkages to increase productivity, sales, and sustainable income generation. The officer will conduct regular field visits, assess business performance, identify gaps, and provide tailored mentorship and practical solutions to improve enterprise growth and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct business mapping and needs assessments for selected women-led enterprises.
  2. Provide regular on-site business mentorship and coaching to improve enterprise performance.
  3. Support beneficiaries in business planning, budgeting, costing, and profit management.
  4. Deliver practical training on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business growth strategies.
  5. Train women entrepreneurs on digital marketing, social media promotion, and online customer engagement.
  6. Support creation and management of social media business pages and online product promotion.
  7. Provide technical support on branding, packaging, labeling, and promotional material development.
  8. Identify local market opportunities and connect women entrepreneurs with buyers, suppliers, and traders.
  9. Organize and facilitate market linkage events, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meetings.
  10. Support women in improving product quality, market readiness, and customer relations.
  11. Monitor business growth, sales performance, and operational challenges.
  12. Prepare regular progress reports and submit updates to the Project Manager.
  13. Coordinate closely with the M&E team for data collection and performance tracking.
  14. Ensure proper documentation of mentoring, market linkage, and digital marketing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business development, livelihoods, enterprise support, or market systems.
  • Strong knowledge of micro enterprise development and business mentoring.
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media promotion, and online business development.
  • Good understanding of market systems, buyer engagement, and value chain development.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to conduct field visits and provide hands-on technical support.
  • Experience working with women entrepreneurs, livelihood projects, or NGO programs is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of local markets in Logar and surrounding areas is an advantage.
