About FGA

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar, Nuristan, Logar, Wardak, Nimruz, Herat, Kanadahar, Badghis, Panjshir, Bamyan, Helmand & Zabul Provinces

Job Description

The Program Development and Grant Management Section Head is responsible for program planning,

fundraising, grant coordination, donor engagement support, implementation coordination, and operational follow-up of FGA’s programs across provinces.

 The Section serves as the central coordination mechanism between organizational leadership, donors, technical sections, and Project Implementation Units to support effective program delivery, grant management, operational alignment, and institutional accountability.

 

Job Requirements

1. Program Planning and Grant Development

       Support the planning, design, and development of programs and projects aligned with FGA’s strategic priorities and operational objectives.

       Coordinate the preparation of concept notes, project proposals, implementation frameworks, and grant-related documentation.

       Support the identification of funding opportunities, donor priorities, and program development needs.

       Ensure that program plans and grant activities are aligned with donor requirements, organizational policies, and operational capacities.

2. Grant Coordination and Program Oversight

       Coordinate program implementation processes with Project Implementation Units and relevant operational sections.

       Facilitate implementation planning, activity coordination, operational follow-up, and communication between headquarters and field implementation structures.

       Support coordination of operational resources, implementation schedules, and grant-related activities.

       Provide coordination support to address implementation challenges and operational constraints raised by Project Implementation Units.

3. Donor Coordination and Compliance Support

       Support communication and coordination with donors, partners, and relevant stakeholders regarding grant management and program implementation matters.

       Coordinate grant-related documentation, donor requirements, implementation updates, and reporting schedules.

       Facilitate operational coordination related to donor monitoring visits, assessments, meetings, and grant review processes.

       Support donor compliance processes in coordination with finance, compliance, and operational sections.

4. Program Coordination and Operational Alignment

       Promote coordination between Project Implementation Units, finance, procurement, administration, research, and other institutional sections.

       Facilitate information sharing, implementation coordination, and operational communication across programs and operational areas.

       Support alignment between approved project plans, operational activities, donor commitments, and organizational priorities.

       Coordinate operational follow-up processes related to implementation progress, operational needs, and grant-related requirements.

5. Reporting and Documentation

       Coordinate preparation of donor reports, implementation updates, operational summaries, and grant-related reports in collaboration with relevant sections and Project Implementation Units.

       Maintain proper grant documentation, operational records, program files, and implementation-related documentation.

       Support documentation of implementation progress, operational challenges, program achievements, and implementation feedback.

       Ensure timely submission and coordination of required internal and external reporting requirements.

6. Institutional Coordination and Operational Support

       Support effective coordination between program operations, organizational leadership, and institutional support sections.

       Contribute to operational efficiency, implementation coordination, and effective utilization of program resources.

       Support program continuity, grant management effectiveness, and operational accountability processes.

Contribute to maintaining FGA’s operational credibility and donor confidence through effective program coordination, communication, and grant management practices

Qualifications:

·        Strong proposal writing, reporting, and donor communication skills.

·        Experience managing donor-funded projects and implementation coordination.

·        Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

·        Experience working with UN agencies, international donors, or humanitarian coordination systems.

·        Familiarity with participatory and community-centered development approaches.
