Job Description

FDO is seeking a qualified and committed Psychosocial Specialist to support vulnerable individuals, through the design and delivery of psychosocial support interventions. The Psychosocial Specialist will play a key role in providing technical guidance, developing support materials, conducting online sessions, and strengthening the emotional well-being and resilience of beneficiaries.

  • Conduct individual and group support sessions in a safe, and respectful manner.
  • Assess psychosocial needs and identify individuals requiring additional support or referral services.
  • Provide technical input on stress management, trauma awareness, resilience, self-care, emotional well-being, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain proper case records, session reports, and documentation in line with organizational SOPs.
  • Support the monitoring of beneficiaries’ safety, well-being, and emerging psychosocial concerns.
  • Contribute to programme reporting, planning, and evaluation related to psychosocial activities.

    • Minimum [3–5] years of relevant professional experience in psychosocial support, counselling, protection, or mental health programming.
    • Proven experience working with women, vulnerable communities, or individuals affected by trauma, conflict, or displacement.
    • Strong knowledge of psychosocial support approaches, trauma-informed care, and emotional well-being practices.
    • Experience in developing and facilitating training sessions, awareness materials, and psychosocial modules.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive cases with professionalism, empathy, confidentiality, and respect.
    • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
    • Fluency in Dari, and Pashto is preferred / required.
    • Good computer skills, including online communication and virtual session facilitation.
