The organization is based in Kabul and registered with the Ministry of Economy under registration number 3377. Drawing on its experience in humanitarian assistance and community development, DTO works to empower women, children, and vulnerable groups through inte-grated programs in education, health, livelihoods, and social development. The Master Trainer will lead the design and delivery of health and hygiene training sessions for teachers under the Healthy Schools, Healthy Families Initiative (HSHFI). The position is responsible for facilitating participatory trainings, developing contextualized training materials, and strengthening teachers’ capacity to promote health awareness and hygiene practices in schools.
The Master Trainer will work closely with project staff, schools, and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of training activities and consistent delivery of key health and hygiene messages. The role also includes mentoring teachers, supporting practical learning activities, and contributing to monitoring and reporting processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver health and hygiene training sessions for teachers using participatory and practical training methods.
- Develop and adapt training materials, guidelines, presentations, and lesson plans related to health and hygiene topics.
- Support the development and technical review of health awareness brochures, posters, banners, and other IEC materials in local languages.
- Facilitate group discussions, practical demonstrations, role plays, and interactive learning activities during training sessions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to teachers in implementing school-based health awareness sessions.
- Promote key messages on hygiene practices, disease prevention, handwashing, and healthy behaviors.
- Coordinate training activities with the project team, schools, and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor learning progress and assess the effectiveness of training sessions.
- Prepare training reports and document training activities.
- Support school-based awareness campaigns and distribution of health materials when required.
- Ensure training activities are implemented in line with project objectives and organizational standards.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in conducting health trainings, capacity-building programs, and community health awareness activities within NGOs, private sector, or other relevant organizations.
- A valid Training of Trainers (TOT) certificate in health or related fields is required.
- Strong knowledge of health education, hygiene promotion, disease prevention, and WASH concepts.
- Experience in conducting teacher trainings, school-based awareness sessions, or community outreach programs is preferred.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Experience in developing training materials, manuals, and session plans.
- Ability to conduct interactive and participatory training sessions using practical learning methods.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
- Fluency in Dari and Pashto; knowledge of English is an advantage.
- Ability to travel to schools and field locations when required.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to child protection, gender sensitivity, accountability, and professional ethics.
