Job Description
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist Field Officer in conducting village assessment survey and selecting proper locations for water points, water network, and latrines
- Check the quality of sand, gravel, and other construction materials on site.
- Follow up the curing of concrete work and concrete elements.
- Distribute concrete elements and construction materials to the site.
- Keep a daily record of project progress.
- Assign vehicles, equipment, and skilled laborers for daily project activities.
- Assist the Field Officer in mobilizing communities to contribute to the project.
- Assist the Field Officer in training new mechanic/ valve man locally assigned by the community, if there are not already trained mechanics, collecting mechanic wages during the installation of the hand pump/stand post.
- Ensure the supply of proper sand, gravel, and stone in the well/ stand post site, which is the community's responsibility.
- Make sure the emergency latrine and baths are erected properly according to the design.
- Conducting of HEAH household survey and WASH technical survey.
- Follow up and monitoring of water trucking and hygiene kit distribution.
- Assist Field Officer in preparing assessment reports, WASH Survey, stock reports, and attendance reports.
- The holder of this position must strictly follow the organization's existing security policies, procedures, and daily instructions of the safety personnel.
- Any other tasks are given by the supervisor.
Authority Level:
- The Assistant Engineer is authorized to carry out all daily tasks. He /she should keep the Field Officer, Field Coordinator, Regional Manager and humanitarian WASH response staff based in MO informed about all matters of relevance.
Working Relationships:
- The Assistant Engineer should cooperate with the field officer and general with all staff in Field Office.
Gender

Mentoring and Coaching
- All staff in managerial, technical, and advisory positions is required to mentor and coach subordinates and other staff as/when relevant.
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
- DACAAR has a zero-tolerance policy on sexual exploitation and abuse at the workplace as well as in dealing with beneficiaries, suppliers, stakeholders, and partners. Staff members are required to read, understand and adhere to the PSEA policy and report any suspected cases immediately.
Job Requirements
Education: University degree, BSc in civil Engineering
Experience: Three years’ relevant experience in WASH related projects
Other qualifications and advantages:

Languages: Oral and written fluency in (English, Dari, Pashto)
