Job Description
Position Summary:
The Lab and QC Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished ice cream products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of milk, cream, sugar, and other ingredients.
- Analyze samples during production to ensure consistency in texture, flavor, and composition.
- Maintain accurate records of test results and report deviations.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Assist in product development trials and new formulations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO, etc.).
- Monitor hygiene and sanitation practices in the production environment.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Inspect incoming raw materials for quality and compliance.
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct routine checks on product weight, temperature, texture, and packaging.
- Identify defects or deviations and take corrective actions.
- Perform sensory evaluations (taste, smell, appearance).
- Coordinate with production staff to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Assist in internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Job Requirements
Bachlor degree or diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related filed
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is Preferred
Basic knowledge of laboratory testing methods.
Familiarity with food safety regulations.
Experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred.
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
Good communication and problem-solving skills
