QC Quality Controller – Road Construction

Seashore Construction Company is a reputable Afghan-owned firm specializing in road and infrastructure development projects across Afghanistan. The QC Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all road construction activities meet the required quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with site teams to ensure compliance with approved designs and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Inspection & Monitoring

• Conduct regular site inspections of all construction activities (earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, base course, asphalt works, drainage, and structures)
• Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented

2. Material Testing & Control

• Supervise and verify field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete)
• Ensure materials meet project specifications and standards
• Maintain proper records of all test results

3. QA/QC Procedures Implementation

• Implement project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans
• Ensure compliance with standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, or local standards
• Monitor adherence to method statements and inspection test plans (ITPs)

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily quality inspection reports and records
• Prepare test reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action reports
• Ensure all quality documentation is accurate and up to date

5. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with site engineers, lab technicians, and contractors
• Liaise with consultants and client representatives during inspections
• Support audits and quality reviews

6. Calibration & Equipment Control

• Ensure testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
• Maintain calibration records and logs

7. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure all work complies with contract specifications, drawings, and regulatory requirements
• Assist in implementing continuous improvement in quality processes

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory and field testing procedures (CBR, compaction, asphalt testing, concrete testing)
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office

Languages

• Basic English required (for reporting and documentation)
• Fluent in Local language

Working Conditions

• Site-based role with continuous field presence
• Exposure to outdoor and construction site conditions
• May require extended working hours depending on project needs

• Accuracy and completeness of quality documentation
• Timely identification and resolution of quality issues
• Reduction in rework and defects
