About DAARTT
DAARTT (Danish Assistance to Afghan Rehabilitation and Technical Training) is a Danish based organization established in Afghanistan by the Danish People’s Aid (DPA) in 2003.
The organization is specialized in construction and has so far built more than 200 schools, clinics and other buildings in Afghanistan. DAARTT is also engaged in humanitarian and development activities supporting the most vulnerable groups/population of the country. DAARTT got and maintains membership with ACBAR and several technical clusters; such as WASH, Education, ES/NFI and Health clusters.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain punctuality and report for all assigned shifts on time.
- Adhere strictly to all organizational policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, treating all staff, visitors, and colleagues with respect.
- Ensure the overall security of the compound by monitoring the main gate and all access points.
- Safeguard all office equipment and organizational assets located within the compound.
- Conduct a thorough and proper handover of responsibilities and any relevant information at the end of each shift.
Key Tasks and Duties:
- Access Control: Receive all visitors, verify their purpose, and announce them to the relevant department staff member before authorizing entry.
- Perimeter Security: Open and close the main gate for authorized vehicles and personnel.
- Conduct regular inspections of the office premises and report any maintenance or security issues.
- Prohibited Items: Ensure no weapons or unauthorized/prohibited items are brought into the compound.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the office yard, surrounding areas, and the guard room.
- Operational Support: Monitor water tank levels, operate the backup generator as needed (including monitoring fuel levels)
- assist in the receipt and delivery of mail and packages.
- Assistance: Provide courteous and prompt assistance to staff when officially requested.
Shift & Emergency Protocols:
- Vigilance: Remain vigilant, awake, and alert at all times, particularly during night shifts.
- Night Patrols: Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the compound during night shifts, checking that all doors, windows, and entry points are secure.
- Incident Reporting: Immediately report any security incidents, suspicious activities, or irregularities to the direct supervisor. In the supervisor’s absence, report directly to the Head of Mission, Program, Admin or the Director/Country Director.
- Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency (e.g., fire, natural disaster, security breach), Be familiar with the location and proper use of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment and perform all assigned duties.
Job Requirements
- High School Graduation Certificate
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in security, preferably with an NGO or international organization, is an asset.
- Ability to remain calm and act responsibly under pressure.
- Physically fit and capable of performing patrols and standing for long periods.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and alertness.
- Must be based in Kabul.
