About Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe - Afghanistan
“Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe” is a German non-governmental charity-organization duly registered with the courts of law in Germany and in several host countries, including Afghanistan. Help was founded in 1981 by concerned Members of Parliament of all parties represented in the German Parliament. We started providing humanitarian assistance for Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran and soon extended to development-oriented activities. We provide aid and development support regardless of race, creed or nationality. Priorities are set based on need and upon the request from partners and vulnerable communities to cooperate fairly and transparently.
Job Description
The Guard will Ensure safety and security of Help’s staff, premises, assets, and vehicles.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain security in Help’s sub-office and its warehouses
- Control and check on individuals and vehicles commuting to the Help premises
- Travel along with Help vehicles; assist the driver and team members with whom he travels. (Only if needed)
- Assist the warehouse staff respectively. Help logistic officers with the loading and unloading of goods and equipment
- Do the shopping in the nearby market for the office daily material, if needed
- Assist the office cleaner with office errands and help the drivers in maintenance and cleaning of the help vehicles if needed
- Assist the warehouse keepers and gardener with the compound yard & garden
- Work accurately under the direct supervision of the office Security Manager/Team leader
- Act as a trusted person for beneficiaries and assist them whenever needed
Job Requirements
- Must have a secondary education. High school education is preferred
- At least four years of proven experience in the relevant field
- Must have specialized skills in safety and security
- Solve problems and make decisions
- Good communication
- Teamwork is highly required.
- Able to work under pressure and in different circumstances
- Should know Basic English.
