Objective

The Senior Exploration Specialist is responsible for planning, managing, and supervising all geological and exploration activities to define mineral resources in accordance with international standards and national regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and design exploration programs including geological mapping, trenching, sampling, drilling, and geophysical/geochemical surveys.
• Supervise and mentor junior exploration staff and field crews.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify and prioritize exploration targets.
• Prepare exploration strategies, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure quality control (QA/QC) of sampling, logging, and laboratory results.
• Develop geological models, cross-sections, and preliminary resource estimates where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Liaise with laboratories, drilling contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
• Support transition from exploration to feasibility or mine planning stages.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Minerals Exploration Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant mineral exploration experience.
• Proven experience in managing exploration projects and teams.
• Strong knowledge of exploration methods for industrial and/or metallic minerals.
• Experience with geological modeling and reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101 – advantage).
• Proficiency in geological software (e.g., Surpac, Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Datamine).
