About War Child UK:

War Child is an international alliance working in 15 countries. This is an international charity working for children and youth affected by war. War Child initiated working in Afghanistan from 2002. In Afghanistan War Child Work with children and youth, who as a result of conflict, live with a combination of poverty, exclusion, and insecurity. These children and youth might include street children, child headed households, children conscripted into armed groups, unaccompanied minors, youth returnees and refugees, and children who have been put in Juvenile Rehabilitation Center and, the children and youth impacted by the climate induced disasters.  Our mission is to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children and youth caught up in conflict, poverty, and exclusion. We also work on building the lives and climate resilient livelihoods of the children and youth.  We look forward to a world in which the lives of children and youth are no longer torn apart by war. Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose

The Admin Intern will support the administration team in registering organizational assets on the Ministry of Economy’s online platform and assist with related administrative tasks. The role aims to provide the intern with hands-on learning opportunities in office administration, asset management, and compliance processes. Through practical exposure and close mentorship, the intern will develop essential administrative competencies, enhance understanding of organizational systems, and strengthen their readiness for future professional roles.

The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Register of the organizational assets on the Ministry of Economy’s online platform in line with the MoEc guidelines.
  • Ensure that all assets’ information and documentation are accurately entered and properly maintained.
  • Assist in preparing, organizing, and updating asset records and inventory lists.
  • Coordinate with the finance and procurement teams for verifying assets’ details and relevant supporting documents.
  • Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems for administrative records.
  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, document scanning, and correspondence.
  • Assist in day-to-day administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor
  • Gain practical experience in office administration, inventory management, and organizational compliance.
  • Learn and apply War Child UK’s administrative systems, filing protocols, and record management standards.
  • Develop skills in coordination, documentation, and data accuracy.
  • Receive on-the-job coaching and feedback from the Admin and IT teams.
  • Participate in periodic review and reflection sessions to assess learning progress and identify development needs.
  • Build professional confidence and readiness for future employment in the humanitarian or administrative field.
  • Perform other office-related tasks as assigned by the IT and Admin Officer.

Experience and mandatory criteria:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer since.
  • Must have no or minimal (maximum 3 months) prior paid professional experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated motivation to work in the humanitarian sector, and specifically with War Child.
  • Personal values aligned with War Child’s values (e.g., commitment to child protection, inclusion, and respect).

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills both in English and Dari - able to communicate clearly and purposefully.
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose practical solutions.
  • Intermediate computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, data entry, email communication).
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and willingness to learn.
  • Professional attitude, confidentiality, and respect for organizational procedures.
  • Excellent Communication, coordination, Negotiation skills
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
