1. Position Overview
The Transmission Line Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and ensuring the technical integrity of transmission line projects at various voltage levels. This includes feasibility studies, route surveys, construction supervision, quality control, and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
Technical & Engineering Duties
- Prepare, review, and validate transmission line designs, including tower design, line profiling, sag- tension calculations, and conductor specifications.
- Conduct detailed route surveys, geotechnical assessments, and site feasibility evaluations.
- Develop technical documents including BOQs, specifications, tender documents, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and national codes.
- Participate in procurement evaluations.
Project Execution & Supervision
- Supervise site construction activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure corrective actions.
- Coordinate with survey teams, civil engineers, and logistics.
Quality, Safety & Reporting
- Implement QA/QC inspections.
- Ensure safety protocols during construction.
- Prepare reports, site notes, and commissioning documentation.
