About Future Generations Afghanistan

Future Generations (FG) is the collective name for an international network of non-governmental organizations including FG Country Programs in Asia and Africa, Future Generations University (FGU) and its alumni in 17 countries, academia, and individual’s experts. The original charitable organization, Future Generations, was established in 1992 for the purpose of learning from, and building upon the world’s most successful examples of community empowerment and social change. It is complemented by the Future Generations Graduate School (Future Generations University) in 2006 in the State of West Virginia with authorization to provide a Master's Degree in Applied Community Change focus on Conservation and Peace building.  The Future Generations Afghanistan (FGA) established in May 2002 and obtained its registration certificate from Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan in October 2005.  Since 2007, FGA has been operational in Eastern Afghanistan, and successfully completed development and humanitarian programs in Nangarhar, Laghman , Kunar, Nuristan, Logar, Wardak, Nimruz, Herat, Kanadahar, Badghis, Panjshir and Bamyan Provinces

Job Description

The training and capacity building specialist is responsible for conducting & providing instructional design, delivery, and capacity building trainings and learning strategies for ABADEI project. He is also responsible for providing corporate leadership to promote high-quality project implementation, support excellent training service, targeted capacity building and user-friendly resources and tools to achieve FGA objectives and goals.

Job Requirements

  • Provides technical support to staff and activity in the areas of training needs assessments, training plan development, delivery, train-the-trainer, learning strategies, and training evaluation reports.
  • Contributes to creating a learning culture. Communicates importance of learning and capacity building to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifies learning methodologies and tools that most effectively build the capacity of activity management teams in the project regulations and project management.
  •   Creates a pool of trained in-house facilitators to lead various training sessions, lunch and learns, brown bags, and other types of learning opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and business advisory to selected SMEs.
  • Support SMEs in preparing and updating business plans.
  • Assist SMEs in financial records, costing, pricing, and budgeting.
  • Develops materials, including but not limited to instructor guides, participant guides, and job aides.
  • Supports the development of documentation, resources, and written materials relating to the training programs, including manuals development, updates, use, and refreshes, standard operating procedures, and workshop materials to support consistent quality assurance.
  • Develops a system to track and monitor training attendance, completion of training modules, and knowledge acquisition by staff.
  • Facilitates training workshops and meetings and is responsible for developing agendas to achieve stated objectives, documenting progress, agreements, and issues, and providing follow-up assistance as required.
  • Coordinates skills training in management and leadership development initiatives.
  • Maintain database of trained beneficiaries.
  • Lead capacity-building monitoring and impact evaluation.
  • Prepare periodic activity and progress reports (monthly, quarterly

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in training curriculum design and capacity development.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects (UN, USAID, World Bank, GIZ, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
  • Excellent training and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical and business advisory capabilities
