Data Analyst (Qualitative)

BILIM Organization for Research and Social Studies is an independent nongovernment and non-profit organization providing research and training services in social science with a specific focus on education, migration, culture, public administration, and governance in Afghanistan. Bilim's vision is to advance knowledge, awareness, and perception of the public, organizations, and government agencies of real-world challenges. We envision being an effective liaison between the public and policymaking bodies by generating accurate evidence-based scientific data on the thematic area of social science. Our mission is to promote and advance quality research and data-driven knowledge in education, migration, culture, public administration, and governance. We conduct rigorous research and generate scientific knowledge for inclusive and operational decision-making.

• Data Analysis: Conduct qualitative data analysis using software such as NVivo, MAXQDA, or Atlas.ti, to identify themes, patterns, and insights in textual, audio, or video data.
• Data Coding: Code qualitative data systematically and consistently, using established coding frameworks or developing new ones as needed.
• Data Interpretation: Interpret qualitative data analysis results and present findings to project staff and stakeholders in a clear and understandable way.
• Data Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on data analysis procedures and results, including checking for inter-coder reliability, data consistency, and data completeness.
• Data Management: Manage and organize large datasets, including creating and maintaining databases, and ensuring that data is appropriately secured and backed up.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of data analysis procedures, including documenting any assumptions and limitations of qualitative data analysis methods used.
• Communication: Communicate data analysis findings and recommendations to project staff and stakeholders, including explaining complex data issues and recommending solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of qualitative data analysis processes and results, through peer review and methodological checks.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other project staff, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that qualitative data analysis activities align with project goals and objectives.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve qualitative data analysis processes, by reviewing and revising procedures and tools, and staying up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in qualitative data analysis.

1. Education: Masters or Bachelor's or degree in a relevant field such as economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and other related fields. 

2. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in conducting relevant research studies.

3. Project management skills: Strong project management skills to plan, organize, and manage research projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

4. Leadership skills: Strong leadership skills to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and ensure project objectives are met.

5. Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.

6. Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to review project data and make informed decisions based on the results.

7. Client management skills: Ability to manage client relationships, provide updates on project progress, and ensure client satisfaction.
