Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Counselor to join our team for an Opioid Project at RHDO Opioid substitution Treatment Center. As a Social Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling services to individuals struggling with opioid addiction, offering support, guidance, and resources to help them overcome challenges and achieve recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting initial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for clients
- Providing individual and group counseling sessions to clients dealing with opioid addiction
- Offering emotional support and guidance to clients during the recovery process
- Collaborating with medical professionals and other stakeholders to ensure integrated care for clients
- Identifying and connecting clients with relevant community resources and support groups
- Monitoring clients' progress and updating treatment plans as required
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records
- Participating in team meetings and case conferences to coordinate care
- Keeping up-to-date with current research, trends, and best practices in opioid addiction treatment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, or a related field
- Relevant certification or license in counseling
- Proven experience in providing counseling or therapy services, particularly with individuals dealing with substance abuse or addiction
- Knowledge of opioid addiction and evidence-based treatment approaches
- Strong empathy and active listening skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Familiarity with community resources and support networks for addiction recovery
- Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
