About HEALTHO:

Health Efficient, Accessible, Long-Lasting and Treatment at Homeland Organization (HEALTHO) is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political Afghan national organization established and registered with the Ministry of Economy in 2012.

The purpose of HEALTHO is to contribute to the development of Afghan society through providing health and education services, arranging capacity building programs and imparting vocational skills training, ensure food security and emergency relief assistance in times of natural or man-made calamities.

Job Descriptions:

The Site engineer will be overall responsible for the successful implementation of construction projects, from pre-construction, steps to the final hand over in Paktika province. 

Job Requirements:

  • Set out, level and survey sites, checked plans, drawing and qualities for accuracy of calculations
  • Preparation of architectural design, detailed BoQs and specifications of the construction project 
  • Visiting proposed project sites to obtain information for use in project specification. This includes condition, location and project sites, location of storage and staging areas, and character and scope of work
  • Ensured that all materials used, and work performed are as per specifications
  • Planned the work and effectively organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
  • Communicating with higher authorities on issues concerning specification, engineering interpretation and explanations, supply of items, and items of work, and offer recommendations on reviewing specification.
  • Monitoring ongoing construction activities, identify defects, propose solutions and have follow-ups, identify challenges that are deemed to delay our project activities and proactively work for the solution.
  • Resoled any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Conducting monitoring in compliance with applicable codes, practices QA/OC policies performance standards and specification.
  • Reporting any deficiencies and slippages from the work plan on time with probable solutions to be shared and reported to respective offices.
  • Conducting meeting with Implementation partner and discuss work progress, challenges and propose solutions.
  • Coordinate Shelter and construction activities with other local actors (governmental and non-governmental sector).
  • Performing overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, and personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
  • Overseeing and conducting of tests (Construction materials, RCC & PCC) at site and lab, review the test reports and inform the office about the accurate result.
  • Oversee quality control, health and safety matters on site
  • Prepared and present summaries and analyses of survey data, including tables, graphs and fact sheets that describe survey techniques and results
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 

 

Qualification:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in civil /construction engineering.
  • Proficient in English, Dari and Pashto languages.
  • At least four to five years’ experience.
  • Honest and Trustworthy.
  • Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Must have strong facilitation skills and work as a team player
