HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.
In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.
HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.
HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.
. Maternal and Newborn Health Services
• Provide Antenatal Care (ANC), Postnatal Care (PNC), delivery services, and family planning to clients.
• Identify complications during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, and ensure timely referral to higher-level care.
• Maintain partograph and other related registers and documents.
• Encourage mothers to take Iron Folic Acid (IFA) during pregnancy and lactation.
• Support Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices and counsel mothers with special focus on pregnant and lactating women.
2. Emergency Response & Trauma Support
• Provide emergency maternal and child health services in earthquake-affected areas.
• Administer basic mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for mothers and children experiencing trauma.
• Identify complications and ensure timely referral to higher-level care.
• Provide health education and counseling to mothers for additional nutrition and trauma support.
3. Community Engagement & Coordination
• Conduct awareness and sensitization sessions with community elders.
• Coordinate with camp staff, project management staff, and health promoters regarding Reproductive Health (RH) sessions.
• Attend planned trainings by HNTPO and other relevant organizations.
4. Vaccination & Infection Prevention
• Administer vaccines, particularly during night duties if the vaccinator is absent.
• Observe Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures within the camp and health facilities.
5. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date registers, reports, and documentation related to RMNCH services.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational policies.
• Regularly report to the line manager and assist in fulfilling all relevant documentation requirements.
6. Professional Conduct & Organizational Compliance
• Maintain privacy, dignity, and respect in all services provided.
• Apply RMNCH policies and guidelines in daily practice.
• Demonstrate good behavior and cooperation with clients, staff, and community members.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the line manager as needed.
Graduate from GIHS or recognized midwifery schools
At least three-years’ work experience in AHF or BPHS health facilities.
Knowledge of the local languages, good communication and counselling skills
