About Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan

Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions creating educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities in Afghanistan through education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. Our mission is to empower Afghans, especially girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan by creating educational opportunities and livelihood skills because SSEOA has a firm belief that without educating girls, peace and prosperity is not possible.

SSEOA boasts a team of highly qualified professionals renowned for their discipline, organization, efficiency, and extensive tenure within both national and international organizations. The team is spearheaded by an Executive Body comprising of the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Program Director, Finance Manager, and Program Manager, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. At the helm of strategic governance stands SSEOA's Board of Directors, comprising five distinguished members renowned for their extensive experience working with the government and NGO sector.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities :

The Trainer will serve as the technical lead at the district level, responsible for capacity-building of remedial class teachers, monitoring classroom practices, ensuring curriculum delivery, and coordinating with local stakeholders.    

Training and Capacity-Building:

  • Conduct initial and refresher teacher training sessions on remedial education, child-centered teaching methodologies, classroom management, and student assessment.
  • Develop simple training materials, guides, and session plans tailored to remedial learners’ needs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to class teachers through regular visits.      

Monitoring and Supervision:

  • Conduct regular classroom observations to ensure quality teaching and adherence to the remedial curriculum.
  • Track teachers’ performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure that teaching and learning materials are effectively used in all remedial classes.
  • Support teachers in maintaining attendance records, student progress reports, and other documentation.

Coordination and Community Engagement

  • Coordinate with local school authorities, community leaders, parents, and SSEOA field teams to strengthen community ownership of remedial classes.
  • Report on challenges, risks, and best practices from the district to the Education Coordinator.
  • Support awareness sessions in communities to promote the importance of education, especially for girls.

 Reporting and Documentation

  • Submit activity reports, teacher training records, and monitoring checklists
  • Document success stories, case studies, and challenges for program learning.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science or related field.
  •  Work experiences of 3-5 years in project implementation among Education organizations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Teamwork, team building, coordination, and management skills
  • Proven skills in data management with concrete knowledge of open-source tools such as Kobo the Toolbox platform.
  • Proficient in listening, verbal, and written knowledge of Pashto, and Dari, and excellent knowledge of English
  • Having good time management and planning skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Computer skills
  • Should be able to travel within the targeted location
