Job Summary:

The Head of the Research Center at Rana University is responsible for leading and managing the university’s research initiatives, promoting a culture of research excellence, and supporting faculty, staff, and students in their academic research and scholarly activities. This role involves strategic planning, policy development, project supervision, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to foster impactful research aligned with national and global priorities.

The position requires a visionary leader with a strong academic background, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to academic integrity, innovation, and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and lead the strategic vision and goals of the Research Center in alignment with the university’s academic priorities.
2. Foster a vibrant research environment among faculty, staff, and students.
3. Encourage interdisciplinary research and innovation across faculties.
4. Design and implement research policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
5. Ensure all research activities comply with institutional, national, and international standards.
6. Oversee faculty and student research proposals, providing guidance and approval for execution.
7. Organize training programs, seminars, and workshops on research methods, academic writing, and grant proposal development
8. Identify funding opportunities and assist in preparing grant applications.
9. Coordinate resource allocation and financial oversight of funded research.
10. Establish and strengthen partnerships with national and international universities, research institutions, and governmental bodies.
11. Supervise the publication of research findings in journals, conferences, and other academic platforms.
12. Develop KPIs and performance evaluation metrics for research output.
13. Lead the organization of research conferences, student research fairs, and scholarly presentations.

• At least a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. required. Familiarity with the principles and methods of research;
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in scientific research or related academic fields is required.
• Applicants must have at least two (2) peer-reviewed research articles published in recognized national or international journals;
• Proven ability to translate academic texts from Dari to English and vice versa;
• Strong academic writing skills in both national languages and English;
• Strong communication and managerial skills;
• Strong knowledge of research regulations;
• Proficiency in computer applications and research software;
