About Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP)
Afghanistan Rehabilitation and Educational Program (AREP) was established in 1994 as an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization, AREP's learning experience as a development organization comes from its working association with communities in different areas of Afghanistan. More importantly, the development and growth of the organization have been through an evolutionary process, AREP is registered with the Ministry of Economy and member of Education International, ACBER, ANCB and DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S (The International Award for Young People).
AREP is working for women, youths, and children where disability is the top priority among the AREP's three targeted groups in three main AREP core competencies/ technical expertise, a): EDUCATION (Formal and Informal education, b): CAPACITY BUILDING, Vocational Education Skills Trainings, Awareness Initiatives (Civic Education, Human Rights, Anti-Corruptions, Access to Justice, Peace Building & Conflict Resolution) and other trainings for aforementioned target groups] & c): COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT providing them assistance in multi-cultural program, government and community dialog, peacebuilding and Rehabilitation & Small Infrastructure) throughout Afghanistan.
Job Description
The Surveyor is responsible for surveying the beneficiaries of Emergency cash for food assistance for the most vulnerable households in the Kabul Project and will be overall responsible for selecting and determining vulnerable beneficiaries and HHs and will survey for humanitarian aid door by door.
- Survey in the field and select the vulnerable families according to WFP criteria
- Responsibly for surveying the HHs in the targeted area and collecting the data from the vulnerable families
- Within the Unconditional Seasonal Support (UCSS) project, the surveyor uses the KOBO system, entering data into the system and He/ She is responsible for the following tasks:
- A daily visit of HH and filling related questionnaires using KOBO software
- Establish respectful relations with interviewees, in order to encourage them to give appropriate answers;
- Interview the head of household and fill up pre-prepared questionnaires during field visits;
- AREP also adheres to strict child safeguarding principles.
- Ensure respect of rules and procedures;
- Respecting the confidentiality of the interviewee and collected data
- Report his/her activities to the line supervisor;
- Help ensure factual data from the site and properly report field-related information to the relevant senior staff at the office and to the project assistants.
- Participate in meetings with WFP, DDAs, CDCs, and other stakeholders in the province; liaise, communicate and coordinate with donors, NGOs, and other relevant institutions in the province according to instructions from supervisor.
- Any other task assigned by the Surveyor Supervisor
Job Requirements
- At least 12 grade, 14 grade and prefer to bachelor in Economics, social sciences, business administration or equivalent
- Prior experience working in a surveyor position with UN and WFP agencies and in a surveyor supervisor position
- Fluency in Dari or Pashto and familiarity with the English language are required.
- 5 years of work experience within UN agencies or local NGOs in CBT project
- A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in similar positions.
- Ability to conceptualize, design and plan for projects and to prepare reports and proposals.
- Able to manage and plan the work effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build close working relationships and trust with the Project team in relation to program implementation.
- Ability to build strong lines of communication with stakeholders and within the team
