Job Descriptions:

About The Role
 

The Aseel Country Manager (CM) holds responsibility for overseeing all Aseel platform operations within Afghanistan, including product management, system development, operations, programs, and strategy. Collaborating closely with the CEO and the leadership team across the US (HQ), Turkey, the UK, and other countries, your role within Aseel encompasses three key areas:

 

Leadership & Coordination

  • Oversee all Aseel operations in Afghanistan, including product management, strategy, and team leadership.
  • Lead the development of SOPs, HR policies, and financial management frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Aseel HQ (US, Turkey, UK) and the Afghanistan team, ensuring smooth communication and progress on projects.
  • Drive Aseel’s vision to transform Afghanistan operations into a globally competitive, professional entity.
  • Ensure successful delivery of Aseel’s projects ("Buy Good, Do Good") and contribute to achieving sustainability and strategic goals.
  • Manage monitoring & evaluation of ongoing projects and provide solutions to improve operations.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, mentoring and guiding young professionals and staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies for business growth and expansion opportunities in Afghanistan.

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across supply chain, logistics, production, and customer service to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure alignment with Aseel’s mission, vision, and KPIs while leading the Afghanistan-based team.
  • Review financial and operational reports, propose improvements, and drive accountability across the organization.
  • Lead the development of brand strategy, social media presence, and business development initiatives.

Technical Leadership

  • Collaborate with the System Development team on platform improvements, market-fit, and technical issues.
  • Work with the strategy department on SRS (Software Requirements Specifications) and app features.
  • Assist with business forecasting, sales execution, and fundraising efforts.
  • Drive expansion activities, including investments, acquisitions, and corporate alliances.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with a clear and warm communication style.
  • Significant work experience of at least three to five years with global start-ups and tech-based companies.
  • Experience supervising and managing a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Must have an MBA or equivalent practical experience.
  • Should be analytical and possess problem-solving skills along with effective business acumen.
  • Disruptive, willing to take risks, try new things, and challenge the status quo.
  • Extremely consistent and reliable to the team and the business units.
  • Flexible, resourceful, and thrive in a fast-paced, changing, and growing environment.
  • Strong execution mindset - we're moving fast, and there's a lot to do every day. You don't mind getting scrappy.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to unleash their creative potential and achieve their best work.
